SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS-

DUAL CHANNEL BLOCK DOWNCONVERTERS

Required Delivery Date: 31 December 2020

Required Award Date: 12 August 2020

Dual channel block downconverter capable of converting a frequency input range of 7.0 –

12.75 GHz to an output range of 0.5 – 6.5 GHz. Nominal bandwidth should be 6.0 GHz.

The block downconverter must have two RF input ports and two IF output ports. The downconverter must support a single 10 MHz input reference signal and default to an internal 10 MHz reference if an external source is absent. Both RF conversion paths must be synchronized to a common phase locked oscillator. The block downconverter must have on board monitoring and control with contact closure alarm contacts available on an external connector. The maximum RF input level should be about -35 dBm for best spurious performance. The 1 dB compression of the output must be +10 dBm minimum. In band VSWR for both input and output must be 2.5:1 max (50 ohms). The expected frequency sense is inverted. The downconverter must have a noise figure of 15 dB typical, and 20 dB maximum. The nominal gain of the downconverter should be 35 dB with a gain flatness of +/-0.5 dB/ 100 MHz. Image rejection must be 60 dB minimum and typical in band spurious must be -70 dBm max and non signal dependent.

The typical local oscillator phase noise at the listed offsets must be as follows or better:

100 Hz: -65 dBc/Hz

1 kHz: -85 dBc/Hz

10 kHz: -97 dBc/Hz

100 kHz: -97 dBc/Hz

1 MHz: -112 dBc/Hz

The block downconverter must be packaged in an outdoor chassis to operate in 95% non-condensing humidity and over a temperature range of -30 to 70 deg C. The size of the package should be approximately 10” in length, 8” in width, and 3-4” in height with mounting holes.

The downconverter must operate with a DC input of 12 – 15 VDC. Control/alarm and power connectors should be circular mil type, MS3112E series, bayonet style connectors.
