About this file
This document outlines the salient characteristics for mobile dehumidification carts solicited by the U.S. Coast Guard under solicitation number 70Z03823QK0000030. The mobile dehumidification carts must be capable of reducing relative humidity to 30-40% within one hour of docking to an aircraft, and maintaining 40% relative humidity for a minimum of eight hours per day. Additional requirements include a 750 cubic feet per minute air flow rate, pre-cooling and post-cooling coils, a refrigerant of R-448A, and withstanding transportation by commercial trailer, train and marine vessel without damage. The carts must have a white polyurethane coating, tropical rust proofing, 316 stainless steel construction, and be capable of operating in outdoor salt air environments. The solicitation also specifies electrical and ducting requirements, as well as transportability, identification markings, and an identification plate to be affixed to each unit with relevant information.

▪ Mobile Dehumidification Cart with Pre and Post cooling o 750 cubic feet per minute (CFM) o Open loop system
▪ Reduces relative humidity to a target zone (30-40% Relative Humidity (RH)) within one (1) hour
▪ Dock and undock to the aircraft in five (5) or less minutes
▪ Achieve 40% RH for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day o Test ports for process airflow
▪ Once docked to an aircraft, unit automatically regulates supplied RH air to the aircraft
▪ Electrical testing Laboratories (ETL) listed and approved equipment
▪ R-448A Refrigerant o Pre-cooling coil o Post-cooling coil o Double wall insulated unit construction
▪ Dehumidifier with electric reactivation
▪ Power requirement: 460vac/3ph/60hz 60 amps maximum o 100 feet (SOOW) power cable (bare end; no plug)
▪ S = Service
▪ O = Oil-Resistant Conductors
▪ O = Oil-Resistant Jacket
▪ W = Water-Resistant o Coast Guard (CG) will provide the power cord plug for each unit.
▪ Rated for outdoor salt air environment construction o 316 stainless steel construction o Stainless steel fasteners o Doors and access panels gasketed with neoprene o 1/8” stainless steel wire mesh/screen to prevent lizard entry (geckos; specific to HI) o Inlet weather hoods for air inlets o Weather covers for all connections
▪ Painted white polyurethane coating 17925, mil-prf-85285
▪ Tropical rust proofing. This should be considered a premium rust proofing package usually consisting of an additional coating. The units shall be treated with a corrosion preventative compound. These units will be used in tropical/coastal environments and experience high humidity and salt spray. Areas such as those listed below, usually exhibit high levels of corrosion and should be considered for additional coatings:
o Interior o Exterior o Seams
