About this file
This document outlines the salient characteristics for a glow discharge optical emission spectrometer solicited under Solicitation Number SPMYM2-23-Q-2132 by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime. The spectrometer must be capable of analyzing bulk metal material and providing the chemical composition in percent for elements between 160 to 850 nm wavelengths, including nitrogen. It must be a new unit and include a computer, display, software, printer, and all necessary peripherals. Onsite installation, user and factory training, and a one-year warranty are required. The spectrometer comes preloaded with methods for analyzing steels, stainless steels, Monels, Inconels, Hastelloys, coppers, cobalts, aluminums, and titanium alloys, along with necessary drift standards. It must operate on 115 or 230 VAC power and use argon as the source gas and for spectrometer purging, with the option for air, nitrogen, or argon for pneumatic functions. The unit must be manufactured in the USA and certified to applicable safety standards.

Salient Characteristics for Glow discharge optical emission spectrometer 900 (GDS900) FOR CLIN # 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, 0005 & 0006.
· Spectrometer capable of analyzing bulk metal material providing chemical composition for elements covering the 160 to 850 nm spectral wavelengths (includes nitrogen).
· Provide chemical composition in percent.
· Glow discharge is the source leading to an optical/atomic emission spectrometer (OES or AES).
· Must be a new unit. Used units are not acceptable.
· Instrument must include computer, display, software, printer, and all peripherals needed to function.
· Includes installation, onsite user training/orientation for branch (≤ 8 chemists), factory training for one person, and a one year warranty.
· Comes preloaded with methods capable of analyzing steels, stainless steels, Monels, Inconels, Hastelloys, coppers (bronzes, brasses, copper-nickels), cobalts, aluminums, and titanium alloys. Comes with necessary drift standards for methods.
· See page 2 for a table of the minimum requirement for analytical ranges.
· Electrical ~ 115 or ~230 VAC, 50/60 HZ
· Use argon as the source and spectrometer purge. May use air, nitrogen, or argon for any pneumatic functions.
· Manufactured in USA
· NRTL-tested and certified to meet one or more safety test standard. If not already NRTL certified, must include in cost of equipment.
