SALIENT FEATURES AND CHARACTERISTICS
The components of the CBP machine include the following:
· Venous cannula
· Arterial cannula
· Oxygenator
· Reservoir container
· Pumps
· Tubing
· Heat exchanger
· Cardiotomy suckers
· Cardiac Vents and
· Adjuncts such as the level detector, arterial line pressure meter, arterial line bubble trap and filter, cardioplegia line pressure meter, gas line filter, gas flow meter, and one-way valves on cardiac vents.
The circuit is constructed using the components. The CPB circuit (heart-lung machine) is quite complex.
SPECIFIC NEED/ SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
Salient Characteristics S5 Heart Lung Machine
• Electronic Remote Clamp (ERC) for CP5 centrifugal pump Clamps arterial line when detects retrograde flow, or level or bubble alarm. Only manufacture that offers the safety ERC.
• Completely modular, can be built to any configuration.
• Single and double-headed mast-mounted pumps offered as option.
• An innovative, hard-wearing setting knob (incremental shaft encoder) is used to adjust the set speed of roller pumps electronically
• The optimized pump head geometry (horse-shoe shaped) keeps pressure peaks during operation to a minimum.
• Each pump can be operated in continuous or pulse mode.
• Every pump has a stop link function. This function can be connected to the arterial pump. If the arterial pump stops, the stop link pump also stops.
• Each roller pump can be rotated 180 degrees for proper tubing orientation.
Autotransfusion Machine
• Two independent red cell sensors, allowing a high filling of the bowl and thus an excellent supernatant washout and high outlet hematocrit
• Hematocrit sensor, measures hematocrits of both the salvaged blood and processed blood (to be given back to patient)
• Pressure sensor, shuts off pump when line is clamped, or pressure builds for other reasons…safety feature to prevent spills, sprays
• Advanced data management capabilities
• The waste line color indicator is an optical sensor providing on-screen information at-a glance on the wash quality by a visual indicator
• Vacuum pump that can be used intraoperatively, or taken off machine and used independently as a stand-alone device
• The huge storage capacity of the machine allows transportation for all the necessary disposable to start the procedure. The cart was designed to transport more than 6 liters of fluids and maintain stability
Monitoring System The Cardiovascular Systems CDI Blood Parameter Monitoring System is a blood monitoring system to be used on a single patient during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures. It continuously monitors the blood in the extracorporeal circuit and provides ongoing information about the blood parameters. This information is displayed on the easy-to-read screen.
The monitors and displays the values of Partial pressure of oxygen (PO2), Partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PCO2), pH, Potassium (K+), Oxygen saturation (SO2), Hematocrit (HCT), Hemoglobin (Hgb) and Temperature. In addition, the CDI System 550 can calculate and display Base excess (BE), Bicarbonate (HCO3-), Oxygen saturation (SO2) [calculated when measured is not available], Oxygen consumption (VO2), Oxygen delivery (ḊO2) The system can display the blood parameters either at actual temperature or adjusted to 37°C.
Provide continuous potassium, measured blood PCO2 and pH.
