Bay Pines VA Health Care System Plantation Shutters
STATEMENT OF NEED
· General Description The Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, and soft goods to support the additional items necessary to complete the installation of Building 20 Shutters.
· A site visit is required post award to validate dimensions of the windows for Building 20 at the Bay Pines main campus. Upper windows are arched.
· The Contactor shall be responsible for taking and applying accurate field measurements.
· Manufacturing of goods shall not commence until notifying the Interior Designer is provided.
· This buy will be installed in two phases.
· Most windows range from 3’W to 6’W. Dimensioned plans have been provided to assist with an estimate.

Receive, Deliver, and install
· Project Performance Time
The total contractor performance period shall be 120 calendar days which includes that time needed to submit, review, and approve all furniture submittals, installations, and final inspection. After work begins on the site, the contractor shall work continuously during normal working hours; a representative from the prime contractor shall be present until the completion of the contract.
Installation is based on single trip.
· Location and Access Bay Pines VA Health Care System CW Bill Young Campus 10000 Bay Pines Blvd Bay Pines, FL 33744 Building 20
· Work Hours The contract shall perform the work at the site form Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30pm, unless modified. The contractor shall not have access to the site for the performance of any portion of the work beyond these hours, during Federal holidays nor weekends.
· Project Manager
The contractor shall coordinate with the POC. All work shall be coordinated with other trades involved in the project.
a. Prime must be present at the kickoff meeting.
b. Must submit a work plan prior to work commencing.
c. Prime must have PM on site from start to finish.
d. Must ensure that install drawings are provided to installers.
e. Must communicate with POC upon arrival a completion each day.
f. Communicate with POC if field changes are required.
g. Prepare pre-punch list and provide to POC.
h. Punch walk through with POC.
i. Provide delivery date of punch items within one week of completion.
· Receipt of Materials
Address all shipment of materials, and supplies to the contractor – not the Government. The Government will not accept shipments.
Furniture and materials shall be carefully handled, properly stored, and adequately protected to prevent damage before and during installation, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Damaged or defective items shall be replaced. Location of storage and staging area shall be designated by the POC. The contractor will be responsible for security of all furniture and materials.
The contractor will coordinate with the POC a staging area. The contractor shall be responsible for restoring the area to its original condition at the competition of the work. The contractor shall be responsible for repair of any damage incurred to buildings or pavement as a result of delivery and storage. The contractor shall provide 60 days free storage. Storage may not be charged against 60 days until complete order has been received.
· Warranties All warranties and/or guarantees, either implied or expressed, for individual equipment shall be endorsed to the Government. Warranty should cover soft goods usage for 24/7
· Clean-up and Disposal The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of all trash/debris connected with uncrating and assembling furniture and other items installed under this contract. The Contractor shall not use VA facilities for trash/debris disposal. Recyclable products shall be disposed of in accordance with applicable statutes, in respective containers.
