STATION 672 - LOCAL PROTOCOLS FOR COVID-19
Note: Due to the current COVID-19 situation, be aware you must take all precautions by ensuring you wash your hands according to CDC guidelines. Additionally, contractor shall possess and utilize all necessary tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform all work safely, effectively, and timely. Tools, equipment, and PPE shall comply with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910, (Subpart I), and NFPA 70E. Prior to initiating work, the Contractor shall provide documentation demonstrating that all instruments, test equipment, tools, and PPE possess current calibration and safety inspections. Dated calibration and safety inspection labels shall be visible on all equipment as applicable.
Due to the on-going pandemic, VA Caribbean Healthcare System, San Juan, Puerto Rico needs to limit the number of people entering the facility (Station 672). All personnel shall only enter through the main building number 1 entrance area. VA staff will be asking certain questions.
Example: Do you have flu like symptoms, fever cough, respiratory issues?
• Are family members/household sick or with symptoms?
• Any resent travel outside of the US?
• If you answer yes to any of these questions, access will not be granted to the facility.
• Interest parties should not send any personnel that have recent histories of health issues.
• VA staff will read body temperature to assist in access screening.
Once inside the facility:
- Face mask must always be worn inside the VA premises.
- Each person (VA Patient, Visitor, VA Staff, Vendors and Contractors) must bring their own face mask.
- 6-Ft social distancing shall be maintained between each person.
- No shaking of hands is allowed.
- all Contractors/Vendors including tier Sub-Contractors, Consultants, Visitors and VA Patients must always follow VA instructions to avoid interventions from VA Police Officers providing security at VA Caribbean Healthcare System, San Juan, PR.
-There are various restricted areas that must not be entered without appropriate authorization and personal protection equipment (PPE).
Note: It is VA policy that all VA Medical Centers are "Smoke Free Zone" and all Contractors/Vendors including tier Sub-Contractors, Consultants, Visitors and VA Patients shall not smoke on any federal VA Facility.
