B. Describe why only the requested brand or brand name feature of the supply/service will meet the government’s needs To our knowledge, the ELLA system is the only instrument available that uses a technology based on automated/rapid/accurate detection of proteins/soluble factors in plasma/serum utilizing the Simple Plex Runner Software. It has been used by NIAID clinical labs and has generated reliable and accurate readings of protein markers. The results from these clinical labs will be compared to LIR’s results so the same software must be utilized. Using a different software platform will render the results from the clinical labs useless, which would be very costly to the government.
