Thus, CCR researchers and trainees require basic and advanced training in data science and bioinformatics to learn how to effectively analyze multiomics data, allowing them to meaningfully interpret disease initiation and progression and identify effective therapies.
The Bioinformatics Training and Education Program (BTEP) was established to meet this ongoing training requirement. CCR researchers and trainees require access to a web-based, online learning platform with modules that the address topics including the basics of data science, bioinformatics, and data analysis. This platform must accommodate novice and advanced biologist learners in data science and its associated applications. This platform must also provide well-designed modules that can seamlessly progress learners from beginning/introductory classes to intermediate and then advanced courses within each learning module.
