NIST Requirements Document Scroll vacuum pump

Background SURF III requires a Scroll pump to evacuate a large differentially pumped bellows section on the end of one of its beamlines and as a backup for an identical one we currently are employing on BL-2’s end chamber. This is needed to bring the vacuum level in the chamber down enough so that the six cryo pumps on the chamber can be utilized. It is necessary to employ a pump that is oil free for this purpose to prevent contamination of the ultimate high vacuum in the chamber.

Contractor shall provide one (1) Anest Iwata ISP-1000E Dry Scroll Vacuum Pump, inclusive of FOB Destination shipping charges and warranty.

Minimum Requirements

The system shall meet or exceed the minimum requirements identified below. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award. Experimental, prototype, or custom items will not be considered. The use of “gray market” components not authorized for sale in the U.S. by the Contractor is not acceptable. All line items shall be shipped in the original manufacturer’s packaging and include all original documentation and software, when applicable.

Item 0001 Anest Iwata ISP-1000E Dry Scroll Vacuum Pump with a vertical inlet, and a 208VAC three-phase motor Quantity: One (1) Technical Specifications:

The Scroll Vacuum Pump must have a pumping speed of at least 40 CFM for nitrogen, and be a single-phase (208 VAC, 60 Hz) unit that is air cooled. The scroll pump must be able to achieve an ultimate pressure of at least 10 mTorr and be oil-free to minimize contamination.

Delivery Delivery shall be F.O.B Destination or equal INCOTERMS such as delivered duties paid (DDP) and shall occur not later than 4 weeks from date of an award.

FOB Destination means: The contractor shall pack and mark the shipment in conformance with carrier requirements, deliver the shipment in good order and condition to the point of delivery specified in the purchase order, be responsible for any loss of and/or damage to the goods occurring before receipt and acceptance of the shipment by the consignee at the delivery point specified in the purchase order; and pay all charges to the specified point of delivery. The Contractor has the right to be present during the tests and evaluations, if performed, at the Contractor’s expense.

NIST shall verify that the Scroll Pump can achieve the base pressure of 10 mTorr A visual inspection of the equipment will be performed by the NIST SME to identify surface defects or any form of indication that any equipment was damaged during transport to NIST. The Government shall have sole discretion to require repair or replacement of damaged and/or nonconforming supplies at no cost to the Government.
