Specifications/Item Listing (Commodity) Statement of Work (SOW) for Aircraft Wheel Washer/System

60th Maintenance Squadron/Wheel and Tire has a requirement for aircraft wheel washer/system. To perform normal maintenance on wheel assemblies they must be cleaned of grease, brake dust, dirt, and rubber from previous use. Travis currently does not have a wheel washing system, instead, we utilize the aircraft washing contractors to fulfill this requirement. This causes unpredictable delays as we cannot control the speed or frequency that the washes are completed. This will all be exaggerated by the integration of the KC-46 aircraft that will double the workload in the tire shop coming soon.

Description: The contractor shall provide and install wheel washer including all additional attachments/options.

Preferred Brand/Model Number – STINGRAY 6036 Aircraft wheel washer OR EQUAL and STINGRAY MART EQ1 wastewater processor system OR EQUAL.

Minimum Salient Characteristics: Washers shall include a closed loop system to prevent facility filtered drain installation. Travis Tire shop was denied washers previously due to the lack of a wastewater drain cleaning systems. Any washer must be able to fit 4-wheel halves per wash to prevent delays in repair chain and conserve water/operational costs. Any washer needs to be equipped with attachments to hold wheel halves, bearings, seals, and connecting hardware during cleaning. A wastewater processing system is required to separate solid waste from cleaning solution. This allows a considerable amount of cleaning solution to be reused instead of being disposed. Additionally, this turns all hazardous waste into solids for ease in disposal. Included on-site, in-person training for all personnel.
