Q&As
Q1: “Are the final connections to the electric, gas and plumbing to be completed by others?”
A1: The electrical, gas, and plumbing currently exist. The final connections to the utilities will be completed by other contractors.
Q2: “…..The existing services would be required to be tied into/above the supplied ceiling service panel with pre-mounted fitting. Typically this work is completed by a licensed electrician and plumber. Similar situation for the requested final connections to the sink drain and both faucet and eyewash. To clarify is it the intention of this proposal to include these final connections or would this be handled by other trades hired separately by USDA.”
A2: Connections will be managed by other contractors.
Q3: “We noticed in the sample pictures provided that the table units are shown as back-to-back. Is this the intended configuration or is it qty (6) stand-alone units?”
A3: Yes, the table units will be back-to-back.
Q4: “Regarding the suspended cabinets how would they need to be oriented? The dimension of the table is able to support 2 cabinets each leading to a total of 4 suspended cabinets. Currently being requested are 8 total cabinets.”
A4: Suspended cabinets will be supported by tables. 4 suspended cabinets will be supported by the 4-60” wide tables, 2 suspended cabinets will be supported by the 2-48” tables and 2 suspended cabinets will be supported by the 2-36” sink cabinets.
Q5: “For the (4) 60”W and (2) 48”W tables, the description references pre-plumbing for Air, Gas and Vac AS NEEDED but the part no’s. referenced (SBF1056 and SBF1044) show “N/A” for plumbing, indicating pre-plumbing is not required. Please confirm no pre-plumbing is required. If it is required, please confirm what services are needed and how many on each bench.”
A5: One gas connection is needed per table for a total of 6. Such connections should preferably be off centered by two inches. Air and Vacuum connections are not needed. A minimum of 6 electrical connections are needed on the raceway.
Q6: “Is the intent for the (4) 60”W and (2) 48”W tables to be “single-sided” or “double-sided” assemblies. Single are 30”D (front-back), while doubles are 60”D.”
A6: All singles (30”D), so that when they are placed back-to-back they become 60”D.
Q7: “Is a floorplan available? This would help us with sizes and layout.”
A7: Unfortunately, a floorplan is not available. However, the room is essentially a rectangle. The cabinet assembly will be in the center of a 20 ft. x 20 ft. space with 3.5 ft clearance on one end.
