595th Command and Control Group Demountable Wall Project
| 1. | The 595th Command and Control Group (595 C2G) has a requirement for demountable walls in building 515 to enhance the productivity, security, and provide better social distancing in the spaces. |
| 2. | The 595 C2G, National Airborne Operation Center (NAOC), and 1 Airborne Command and Control (1ACCS) were authorized to occupy building 515 as an interim location for operations after the flooding in 2019 until the NC3 campus could complete construction in FY23. With communication and infrastructure enhancements, building 515 will meets all the needs of the 400+ member who will be housed in the facility. The communication installation is ongoing, and the next project is the installation of demountable walls to provide workspaces suitable for private conversations at classification levels above the overall facility classification. The demountable walls will also provide better security for communication equipment which must be stored in a locked office or other secured structure. Although not fully sound proof, the walls will cut down on ambient noise and allow conversations at different classification levels to occur in adjacent spaces. Additionally, after an assessment of the facility to limit the spread of COVID-19, it was determined open workspaces pose challenges to limiting the virus spread. To better safeguard 595th personnel additional demountable walls are required. |
| 3. | ESTIMATED REQUIREMENTS: |
Add demountable walls depicted in green to divide up the offices to include doors. The walls will create private workspaces with total eight doors required. Additional demountable walls will be installed between existing structural pillars to separate the larger open areas. The total project will be approximately 265 linear feet of new walls consistent with the current wall material and other demountable walls already in the facility. The walls will be 115 inches in height to provide floor to ceiling divisions with a glass the upper portion to allow for light and motion detection. Wall thickness should be approximately 4 inches and no electrical wiring will be contained within the walls. Wall materials can be fabric to match existing demountable walls or glass and other finishes to make the cleaning process easier.
4. Contract Award for the procurement and installation of the demountable walls will require compliance with applicable regulations concerning Fire, Safety, Public Health and Security requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards. Coordination with Base Civil Engineering has been initiated to ensure construction will not interfere with overall facility safety and fire protection. Inspections will be conducted periodically throughout the installation process and enduring inspections will completed in compliance with applicable regulations. Non-compliance with any inspection item will require correction prior to project completion.
General inspection categories include but are not limited to:
Fire Prevention Occupational Safety and Health Public Health Security.
| 5. | The only access into the facility from non-orange badge holders is through the escort process. During the installation period, contractors without proper access will be escorted by members of the 595th. Contractors will request escorts through the project manager, Lt Col Brett Gibson, 210-391-5536, no later than the day prior to work. |
| 6. | Contractors will provide quotes with estimated timeline for project completion along with any supplemental information. |
