TECHNICAL DATA REQUIREMENTS
AC-DC RECTIFIER
Rectifier shall have the capability of being powered by either the onboard diesel generator set or 480V 60Hz 3 phase shore power. Shore power connections shall be made using Duraline DE 1023 Series plugs P/N DE 1023-1605, DE1023-1601, DE1023-1613, and E1016-1635.
An automatic transfer switch shall be provided that switches between shore power and diesel generator set. Switch shall prevent the diesel generator from being able to back feed to the grid.
Rectifier shall produce 1300amp continuously at 250 VDC. Voltage regulation shall be 250VDC ±5% through the rated current range.
A load bank shall be incorporated into the control system that will maintain bus voltage within 250V ±5% during regen. Load bank shall be sized for 37.5KW at a minimum and for continuous duty.
The rectifier shall be designed and tested to meet the requirements of IEEE 1653.1. The rectifier will be considered “Light Traction Duty” with regard to IEEE 1653.1 duty cycle.
An isolation transformer shall be provided between the rectifier and power supply. The isolation transformer shall be selected to minimize harmonic distortion to the limits prescribed in IEEE 519 between the rectifier and incoming shore and generator power.
If a non or half controlled rectifier is used then the following requirements apply:
The peak inverse voltage rating relative to the working peak inverse voltage shall be greater than 200 percent for avalanche type diodes and greater than 250 percent for other types.
When parallel operation of diodes is utilized, each diode’s actual share of the load shall differ from its calculated share by less than 10 percent. Purposely matched diodes shall not be used.
The current on the legs of the bridge circuit shall be balanced to within 5 percent.
Taps shall be provided for 5% Full Capacity Above Nominal (FCAN), 2.5% FCAN, and 2.5% Full Capacity Below Nominal (FCBN).
For a Non controlled rectifier the service ratings, performance characteristics, and test procedure shall meet IEEE 1653.2. The rectifier will be considered “Light Traction Service” with regard to IEEE 1653.2 standard service ratings.
Lifting eyes 4 each. Each must have safety factor of 6:1. The 6:1 safety factors are from our C715 engineers. (6:1 = That 2 lifting eyes can support the load of the object) Lifting eye must be angled towards the center of the load.
Forkliftable ‐ must have pockets incorporated at the bottom of the rectifier.
Estimated weight between 4000lbs‐4500lbs.
Estimated dim’s 44“ L X 44“ W X 60“ H( tolerance = +‐ 2”) (
