Close coordination and scheduling with IHS staff will be required by all contractors. Contractors shall expect and make bids accordingly and expect work or system tie-ins outside of normal business hours on premium time.
Contractors will be required to provide and use medical grade construction barriers, portable barriers, and temporary HEPA filtration ventilation systems only where required in patient care areas and depending on the extent of work and infection control policy, personnel, and procedures dictated by the Pine Ridge Hospital.
All work will be carried out at the address below:
East US HWY 18 Pine Ridge, SD 57770
4. SCOPE OF WORK
The main objective of the project is to re-build and/or correct deficiencies of Air Handler 1 (AH-1). The air handler serves Dental Area B of the Pine ridge Hospital. Certain components shall be carefully demolished and removed from the unit including the pneumatic controls. The existing air handling unit shell shall remain intact and be rebuilt according to this scope of work. Replaced components and all associated accessories shall be completely demolished in their entirety but replaced with new or upgraded components to make the overall air handling system 100% operational and to meet the latest ASHRAE 170 Standard. The existing air handler is located on the second level mezzanine which is housed inside the existing physical plant of the facility. The associated accessories must be removed through existing 3 feet wide by 7 feet wide doorways and taken down existing stairwells or be transported outside to the roof level and be craned or hoisted from the existing flat, membrane roof.
The new air handler components shall be installed in modules small enough to enter through the existing doorways or through the mezzanine roof door after hoisting or craning up to the roof level.
The Contractor shall provide well-trained workers, competent to complete work as specified and as recommended by the manufacturer of the equipment or material that is installed.
