Plankton Care

Statement of Work:

The USDA Agricultural Research Service requires Annual PlanktonCare for four (4) Photobioreactors (PBR 1250L, serial #s 0126, 0127, 0172, and 0173) owned by USDA ARS NCWMAC and operated to support the Northeast Eastern Oyster Breeding program. The PlanktonCare service package provides comprehensive support for each unit. Deliverables include real-time technical support from a PlanktonCare expert when issues arise, remote access to each photobioreactor for equipment management, monitoring, and troubleshooting, software updates to maintain optimal functionality, a PlanktonCare Parts Kit, free shipping on replacement parts, and exclusive discounts on any other parts not included in the PlanktonCare Parts kit.

Vendor shall provide all services, supplies, equipment, and facilities necessary to provide the deliverable specified in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this document.

The following performance elements and benchmarks are required:

1. Vendor will respond to requests for assistance within 24 hours.

2. Vendor will alert USDA ARS when software updates are available, assist with new software installation and operation as needed.

3. PlanktonCare Parts Kit will include: 2 Autoclavable Barbed 10” 0.1 um Media Filters for

PBR Water, 2 Autoclavable 0.2 Um Filter for Air and CO2 with 9/16 Hose Barbs In/Out;

Autoclavable 0.2 um Vent Filters for Gases, 1.5 Sanitary flange In/Out; 8 Autoclavable 0.1um Nutrient Filters; 12 Small (Nutrient) Peristaltic Pump Tubing; 20 ft Silicone tubing for Nutrients, 3/16” ID x 5/16” OD; 6 3/16” x 3/32” Tube ID Natural Kynar Reduction Coupler for Nutrients; 2 3/16” Tube ID Natural Kynar PVDF Y for Nutrient addition; 2 White Acetal Nutrient Tube Clamp; 4 pH probes; 30 ft Peristaltic Pump Tubing for Harvest Pump, 3/8” ID 5/8” OD; 24 ft Autoclavable silicone tubing ½” ID x 7/8” OD; 2 40 W UV bulb; 20 ft Autoclavable Silicone Tubing 3/8” ID x 5/8” OD; and 2 Harvest and Nutrient Peristaltic Pump Tube Lubricant.

4. Vendor will ship replacement parts to appropriate location (CT for 0126 & 0127; RI for 0172 & 173) as needed.

Deliverables:

The PlanktonCare Parts Kit will be received by USDA ARS appropriate location within 60 days of service contract start; other replacement parts will be shipped to appropriate USDA ARS location as needed, but no later than 30 days from original request. Software updates will be pushed to photobioreactor units when available and bug-free. PlanktonCare Experts will contact USDA ARS staff via e-mail, phone, video call within 24 hours of a problem being reported.
