1.0 General
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), is has a requirement to replace the existing fence mounted fiber optic Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDs). The system in place is an Optellios branded FiberPatrol FP1000 system which was installed and commissioned in 2006 with portions refreshed in 2013 (server hardware, client hardware, software) the FiberPatrol system controller and fiber are original install. The PIDs currently protects our perimeter of approximately 6300 feet with approximately 6693 feet of deployed fiber optic cable (including maintenance loops). The updated system will be extended approximately 300 feet due to changes in our perimeter fencing. Cable length distances to be confirmed by contractor. A full system replacement of all components to include the fiber optic cable is needed. Newly installed PIDs system will meet or exceed the performance and specifications of the currently installed system.
2.0 Scope
The existing system consists of the FiberPatrol fence mounted perimeter intrusion detection system and FPRAMS Security Management System located in the NIFC data center, and a remote client running FPRAMS software located at the NIFC guard station.
