While these questions were eventually separated, some currently serving Volunteers completed the old application in which they identified as "Hispanic or Latino" but were not able to specify a separate race. The results for "Volunteers by race" show the number of Volunteers who reported "Hispanic or Latino" as their racial identity/ethnic in this earlier application.

4. The results for "Volunteers by ethnicity" includes applicants who listed "Hispanic or Latino" as their racial/ethnic identity in the earlier application as well as those who listed "Hispanic or Latino" as their ethnic identity in the newer application.
