K Street NW, Suite 1090, Washington, DC 20005-4026.
(2) NATURE AND/OR DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION BEING APPROVED.
This is for the purchase of JAVA RDP Applet license(s). PBGC anticipates the issuance of a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order.
(3) A DESCRIPTION OF THE SUPPLIES OR SERVICES REQUIRED TO MEET THE
AGENCY'S NEEDS (INCLUDING THE ESTIMATED VALUE OF ACTION).
JAVA RDP Applet license(s).
(4) A DEMONSTRATION OF THE PROPOSED CONTRACTOR'S UNIQUE
QUALIFICATIONS OR THE NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES USE
OF THE AUTHORITY CITED.
This software has been tested in OIT and is currently in use at PBGC. JAVA RDP Applet software has proven to be stable and reliable.
The product is proprietary and is not available by any other means outside of the provided retailer. If we decided to select other-brand items it would require compatibility checks, re-testing software applications and reconfiguring the standard software. After doing those tasks it would not be guaranteed that they would meet our standards or be immediately compatible with our servers and network. It would cost the government additional funding for testing, re-tooling, or compliancy to PBGC’s standards. In addition, we may not be able to achieve the same level of performance or reliability until sometime after the new models were introduced.
(5) A DETERMINATION BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER THAT THE
ANTICIPATED COST TO THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE FAIR AND
REASONABLE.
The contracting officer will perform a price analysis to ensure the cost to the government will be fair and reasonable.
PBGC01-RQ-13-0026
(6) A DESCRIPTION OF THE MARKET RESEARCH CONDUCTED AND THE
RESULTS OR A STATEMENT OF THE REASON MARKET RESEARCH WAS
NOT CONDUCTED.
A Google search revealed resellers of the requested parts.
