YMCA & Meyer’s Building Fire Sprinkler Protection

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park SW Corner of 5th Avenue and State Street

SCOPE OF WORK

1. GENERAL:

Provide a complete NFPA 13 dry-pipe automatic fire sprinkler system for the existing YMCA and Meyer’s buildings in Skagway, Alaska. The YMCA and Meyers Buildings were constructed in 1898. The park has been working to restore these historical structures. The YMCA and Meyer’s buildings have undergone several years of stabilization, restoration, and renovation projects, and are currently in the beginning stages of interior renovations. These buildings are planned to be open to the public in the summer of 2020. The park is required to provide an automatic fire suppression system to ensure occupant, artifact, and building protection in the event of a fire.

All work is to be in accordance with the Scope, Specifications, and Contract Drawings, as well as referenced Codes and Standards.

RESPONSIBILITY: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, management, supplies, equipment and material and perform all tasks necessary for performance of the work as set forth below. The Contractor shall provide the Government all requested reports, and supporting material developed during the performance of the work. During the installation, the Contractor shall provide adequate professional supervision and quality control to assure the accuracy, quality, completeness and progress of work. Contractor shall also ensure protection during work, and restoration (if damaged), of building finishes, tenant property, furnishings, etc.

2. PERFORMANCE PERIOD

Work shall be completed no later than October 15, 2017.

3. WARRANTY

Provide one-year warranty from date of substantial completion.
