Solicitation P17PS00969 - Q&A

Q1: What if we encounter more than the specified 900 square feet of subroof deficiencies? Will we be able to submit a change order or be able to recoup the additional cost of repairs?

A1: If the contractor runs into unforeseen conditions of sub-roof repair not visible during the site visit, which is above and beyond the 900 square feet required to be included per the specifications, then work should be stopped, and the park will address it as we see fit which may be through a modification. The contractor should not immediately fix the issue and seek reimbursement later!

Q2: Can we drive on the grass to approach the buildings in order to remove the old shingles?

A2: As long as the ground conditions are dry and favorable and as long as you make a direct path to get within the allocated 10 feet work area around the building. Also, if you tear up the yard/sod, you must repair it.

Q3: Are you firm on using 16" seams or would you consider 20" because you will be paying for a lot of waste with the 16"?

A3: Please adhere to the requirements and product specs in the scope of work which specifies 16” nominal flat pan between the ribs.

Q4: Do you prefer 1-1/2" architectural seams or 2" commercial/industrial seams?

A4: 1-1/2” architectural seams Q5: Do you know of any certified recyclers for shingles?

A5: The government is not aware of any certified recyclers for shingles.

Q6: Is new fascia cover included in the required trim?

A6: Yes, so it can and should match the new roof and gutters.

Q7: Can they use our electricity or must they use their own generators? Their generators would be very loud and running much of the time.

A7: The park will allow the contractor to hook up to our electrical outlets.

Q8: Where is the staging area?

A8: It is specified in the final specifications. The designated area is on the west end of the maintenance parking area.

Q9: Where are local hotels or campgrounds?

A9: Some available option can be provide upon request but vendors are encouraged to use internet search engine and do their own research to locate local hotels and campgrounds near project location.

Q10: During the tear off of the shingles if they are embedded in the ice & water do we replace the plywood or go over the shingles embedded?

A10: If the contractor runs into unforeseen conditions of sub-roof repair not visible during the site visit, which is above and beyond the 900 square feet required to be included per the specifications, then work should be stopped, and the park will address it as we see fit which may be through a modification. The contractor should not immediately fix the issue and seek reimbursement later!

Q11: On the panels are you looking for 1.5" or 2" high standing seam (you specify 16" O.C.,a 20" panel is a cheaper panel from a waste facto).

A: 1-1/2” architectural seams / 16” nominal flat pan between the ribs.

Q12: I did not see the 24' extension on the west end of the garage area is this to be included?

A12: Yes, it is considered and extension of the building.
