Deer Fence Amendment
Use of mechanized equipment, a bobcat or equivalent in size piece of equipment has been approved to install deer fence. Equipment will be pressured washed and inspected by the COR before the equipment enters into the project area. Equipment will be inspected prior to start of deer fence installation at a site TBD this is required to reduce the introduction of invasive species into the project area. High Pressure washing stations is the most effective means of cleaning to eliminate invasive species materials and prevent their spread. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to locate a washing station. Anytime equipment is removed from project site and returned equipment will need to be pressure washed again and inspected by the COR. When equipment is transferred from one project site to the next equipment will need to be pressured washed and inspected by the COR before equipment is used on next project site.
Mechanized equipment will only be operated in designated areas along the fence line and approved by the COR. There are two areas where mechanized equipment will not be allowed to operate due to proximity to streams and deer fence will be required to be installed by hand. These areas are from point B.2.B to B.2.C in plot 2 and B.3.B. to B.3.C. These two areas are located on the eastern most side in the Backus project area.
Any tree that is 3 inches in diameter or larger that is damaged, the contractor maybe held financially responsible. Damage will be classified as any tree where the bark has been removed more than 30% in circumference. Cost estimates will be based on current standing timber prices and averaging the Doyle and International ¼” scale to determine tree volume.
