Brush Management with regrowth control
The objective of the tree/brush management is to control all undesired woody vegetation from the easement.
* Oak trees and mature trees will not be treated. Willow trees/shrubs and dogwood shrubs do not require treating, but may be treated as neceassry when treating targeted trees. The contractor will submit a work plan including planned control methods, work sequence, and work schedule for Tree/Brush Control to the NRCS COR or Representative a minimum of 3 business days prior to commencement of work.
* Tree/brush control shall consist of scouting the project site and chemically spot treating (i.e. Basal Bark, Foliar Spray...) 95% of all undesired trees less than 20 ' tall within the designated areas, with minimal disturbance to the ground surface and surrounding vegetation. Contractor is responsible for re‐seeding any surface vegetation destroyed during the brush control process.
*Targeted species include but are not limted to Ash, Box Elder, Honeysuckle, Buckthorn (Common and Glossy), Juniper, non‐ native (asian) Elms, cottonwoods
* Tree/brush management shall be considered successfully completed when a 95% of targeted trees less than 20' tall are treated.
* The contractor will contact the NRCS representative to meet on site to evaluate the extent of the vegetation regrowth in the first two weeks of July 2023 and July 2024
* The contractor will submit a work plan including planned chemical treatment method, work sequence, and work schedule for Vegetation/Regrowth Control to the NRCS COR or Representative a minimum of 3 days prior to commencement of work.
* Vegetation/Regrowth Control shall consist of chemically treating tree sprouts
* Chemical techniques; Foliar or basal herbicide appropriate for site will be applied according to manufacturer's label
* Vegetation/regrowth control shall be considered successfully completed when the regrowth sprouts are killed and will succumb to fire from a prescribed burn.
* The contractor will contact the NRCS COR or Representative to meet on site to evaluate the success of the foliar chemical treatment in the first two weeks of September 2022 and September 2023..

Weed Control ‐ Spot Spray
* Noxious weeds will be controlled via spot spraying. Noxious weeds identified on the map will be controlled using a broadleaf chemical labeled for the target species. Application of chemical will follow label recommendations and occur prior to the target species going to seed. Timing of each application will be planned for the greatest impact on the target species.
* Herbaceous control shall consist of scouting the project site, mapping areas and types of weeds and chemically spot treating
95% of all identified noxious weeds within the designated areas, with minimal disturbance to the surrounding vegetation.
Contractor is responsible for re-seeding any areas of excessive surface vegetation destroyed during the control process.
* Targeted species include but are not limited to Canada Thistle, wild parsnip, crown vetch, giant ragweed and other noxious weeds on the MN DNR control list.
* Herbaceous weed control shall be considered successfully completed when a 95% of targeted weeds are treated and controlled.
* The contractor will contact the NRCS representative to meet on site to evaluate the extent of the vegetation regrowth in the last weeks of July 2022 and July 2023
* The contractor will submit a work plan including planned chemical treatment method, work sequence, and work schedule for
Vegetation/Regrowth Control to the NRCS COR or Representative a minimum of 3 days prior to commencement of work.
* Vegetation/Regrowth Control shall consist of chemically treating the weds not controlled(killed) previously.
* Chemical techniques; Spot spray herbicide appropriate for site and target weeds Herbicide will be applied according to manufacturer's label.
* Vegetation/regrowth control shall be considered successfully completed when the regrowth sprouts are killed.
* Herbicides to be used are Aminopyralid, clopyralid or an approved equivalent, (must check with NRCS prior to use).
* Vehicles and equipment must be free of vegetative debris and seed upon arrival at the easement. The contractor must do everything possible to clean all vegetative debris and seed off of equipment and vehicles before moving to a different site. Vegetation and seed pieces should be removed, while paying special attention for plant debris on bumpers, radiators and underneath the vehicle.

Weed Control ‐ Chemical treatment
Poison Hemlock will be controlled using a selective broad-leaf chemical labeled for control of Poison Hemlock. Herbicide will be applied to the rosettes following label recommendations and occur prior to the target species going dormant. Timing of each application will be planned for the greatest impact on the target species and to allow for planting the following year.
* Herbaceous control shall consist of scouting the project site, mapping areas of poison Hemlock and chemically treating
95% of designated area.
* Herbaceous weed control shall be considered successfully completed when a 95% of targeted weeds are treated and controlled.
* The contractor will contact the NRCS representative to meet on site to evaluate the extent of the vegetation regrowth in
August of 2022 and September 2023
* The contractor will submit a work plan including planned chemical treatment method, work sequence, and work schedule for Vegetation/Regrowth Control to the NRCS COR or Representative a minimum of 3 days prior to commencement of work.
* Vegetation/Regrowth Control shall consist of chemically treating the weds not controlled(killed) previously.
* Chemical techniques; apply herbicide appropriate for site and target weeds. Herbicide will be applied according to manufacturer's label.
* Vegetation/regrowth control shall be considered successfully completed when the regrowth sprouts are killed.
* Spraying of the hemlock rosettes in year 2 will occur after the new grass seeding has become established.
Herbicides for control: Clopyralid, Triclopyr, Metasulfuron or an approved equvalent.
* Vehicles and equipment must be free of vegetative debris and seed upon arrival at the easement. The contractor must do everything possible to clean all vegetative debris and seed off of equipment and vehicles before moving to a different site.
