The purpose of this SS is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy, to include determining if there are a sufficient number of Small Businesses capable of performing the requirements to warrant a set-aside, for the procurement of bronchoscopes at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106.

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is requesting a to replace six 8-year-old WaveMark RFID medical supplies storage cabinets located in Cardiology Service. These cabinets should be brand name or equal to Wavemark. The past 5-8 years 60-100 more medical supplies were added to the Cath Lab inventory to support procedure increase. Because physical room space is limited the need to replace six RFID cabinets was determined to better organized supplies utilizing the new cabinet technology and user-friendly design allowing staff to manually move and position shelve and other holding components for supplies. This makes it more functional to allow better use of space. The cabinets replace old technology and interfaces with Generic Inventory Package (GIP) module of the Integrated Funds Distribution, Control Point Accounting And Procurement Package (IFCAP). It is mandatory that the cabinets interface with Vista and GIP for real-time monitoring of inventory stock. These cabinets program adds value to tracking stock as it is used for procedures and decremented instantly from the inventory facilitating rapid replenishment. The RFID technology eliminates the need to physically scan each item taking 3-4 hours per day for critical products that are rapidly used daily on Cardiology procedures. As the cabinets interface with GIP the inventory manager can process reports to adjust levels, remove products, search for expiration dates, and replenish stock at a much higher pace.
