SCOPE OF WORK
4/7/21
Background and Need CMS uses the Master Drug Data Base (MDDB) exclusively for intramural research and analysis projects related to Medicare and Medicaid programs. CMS has been using these files for over a decade and since the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003, and the Affordable Care Act of 2010, the demand for the files has increased considerably for use in research, and demonstration/model projects.
The data that CMS requires include a complete line of drug databases, including clinical decision support and disease suite modules, applicators program interfaces, and stand-alone PC products. The databases need to include descriptive drug information, drug pricing, and drug identification.
