Salient characteristics RNAscope Hiplex V2 is capable of multiplexing fluorescent dection of 12 targets simultaneously. It is expected a single incubation of the 12 “ZZ” probes with high specifity. Following steps will amplify and assign fluorophores for each probe. Pictures will be taken in rounds of 3 probes and the in each round the previous fluorophors will be cleaved and inactivated to avoid inespecific overlap.
CONTRACTING WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION
(INCLUDING BRAND-NAME) DETERMINATION
The determination by the Government to award a contract without providing for full and open competition is based upon the market research conducted. Specifically, Advanced Cell Diagnostics, Inc. (ACD) is the sole source company and supplier that renders this specific RNAscope analysis.
The essential characteristics of the mRNA probes that limit the availability to a sole source are their exclusive design. Only this suggested source can furnish the requirements, to the exclusion of other sources, because it is a trademark of ACDbio.
The materials must be compatible in all aspects (form and function) with existing materials currently used in our lab. We currently use mRNA probes from ACD, and the new materials must be compatible with our materials to ensure data continuity.
By using ACD kits and probes, we have gathered previous data. However, with the acquisition of the Hiplex kit, we are enhancing our capacity to collect larger volumes of data while ensuring consistent continuation of our ongoing studies. Moreover, this upgrade opens up broader possibilities for future research endeavors.
Additionally, these kits will be used in several ongoing research projects and are critical to maintain the integrity and continuity of the research. Therefore, only ACD is capable of meeting the needs of this requirement.
The intended source is:
Advanced Cell Diagnostics, Inc.
7707 Gateway Blvd Ste 200 Newark, California 94560-1268
