DESCRIPTION: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO Cepheid for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Molecular Diagnostic Testing reagents, standards, controls, supplies, consumable/disposable items, lease and maintenance service. Market research was conducted and determined that Cepheid is the only vendor capable of providing VA-owned machine supplies & services necessary that meet the requirements:
GeneXpert Infinity 48-48 machine with printer GXMRSA-100N-10-Methicillin resistant staphylococcus Aureus for GeneXpert GXDIFF/EPI-10-Molecular Reagent Clostridium difficile & epidemic strain for GeneXpert.
XPRS4PLEX-10-Xpert Xpress SARS-Cov-2, Influenza A, B and RSV testing.
Xpert reagent-MTB/RIF-Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and Rifampin resistance-associated mutations.
This Notice of Intent is not a request for Proposals or Quotations. No solicitation document exists, and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. This is strictly for market research purposes. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The government may consider all Expressions of Interest received prior to March 19, 2025. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses to this notice must be emailed to Aleta.Jennette@va.gov and received by 10:00AM EST on March 19, 2025. Submitters are responsible for ensuring their EOI reaches the designated contracting officer on-time.
