ATTACHMENT 5-1 SAMPLE SCENARIO

Description of Work:

1. Project Title

Open Innovation for Technology Scouting: Reducing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Levels in

Spacecraft

2. Period of Performance

Within 4 months of Award Date

3. Background

NASA is seeking strategies for highly-efficient, regenerable removal of CO2 that could meet the 1000-day Spacecraft Maximum Allowable Concentrations (SMAC) of 0.5%, and could apply to long-duration voyages to Mars.

4. Task Description

NASA requires the Contractor to possess an extensive network of partners external to

NASA to engage in collaboration in support of the identified NASA spaceflight technology needs.

The Contractor will be required to conduct key activities to clearly define research parameters and objectives as well as criteria for search and partnerships with NASA. The

Contractor will be required to research, contact, and filter solution providers and facilitate in-depth engagement with NASA based on initial and subsequent reviews.

The Contractor will be required to execute all work within 4 months of award.

5. Response Deliverables

The Contractor should provide a description of their approach to the completion of the specified task and the resulting task deliverable. The contractor should also include project-specific milestones, duration (i.e. project start plus two months), and pricing per the table below:
