DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT
NIDDK DMGS intends to acquire an AB Assurance 1PM maintenance contract for its QuantStudio 12K Flex with the goal of having an operational system accessible to interested scientists as a shared resource. The QuantStudio is a broadly capable instrument used in expression and genotyping applications. Such an instrument must be operated continuously and has several complex sub-systems which have many types of potential failure. The duration of instrument failure can have significant effects on the ability of many NIDDK staff to perform high quality science. A service contract provides an efficient route for maintaining the instrument making it possible to use one instrument rather than operating two.
