About this file

This document is a single source justification for the purchase of NF23-1 electric breathing pumps from a sole source supplier. Luke Air Force Base requires three NF23-1 electric driven explosion-proof breathing pumps to expand inventory and meet increased confined space workload and safety requirements. The pumps will be used to provide ambient air for one to three people wearing NIOSH approved respirators. Technical Order 1.1.3 table 8-2 lists the pumps, identified by National Stock Number 4310-01-339-7785, as approved fuel systems support equipment. Market research found multiple small businesses can supply the items and the procurement expects two or more small businesses to respond to the solicitation, meeting small business requirements. Future procurements will review sources for the pumps through normal supply channels to meet timeline needs associated with increased mission needs.
