Question: 1. How many pounds of laundry is currently being processed?
Answer: About 650 lbs daily
Question: 2. What is the frequency of pickup and delivery; 7 days per week, 5 days per week, 2 days per week etc?
Answer: 6 days a week
Note: Please disregard this question and refer to Question #5 below. Clarified to 5 days a week not 6 days.
Question: 3. How many locations will dirty laundry be picked up from and to how many locations will clean laundry be delivered?
Answer: 26 locations
Question: 4. Is the laundry owned by the Government or is it owned by the Contractor and leased back to the Government?
Answer: Owned by Government
5. What certifications are required of the Contractor?
Answer: Must be HLAC Accredited; Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council.

Note to Answer: In discussions with NH Beaufort the actual "certification" is not necessary but the preferred is to be "compliant" with all certification requirements. Apparently the certification is expensive and would probably put undue burden on the company to get it so if you don't have the certification the preferred method is for your company to be "complaint" with these guidelines.
6. Will laundry include any specialty items, (items such as Surgical items, labor & delivery items, incontinent pads, etc.)?
Answer: All of this is listed in the attached Statement of Work.
Question: 7. Can a draft solicitation be provided for review?

Answer: Yes, upon request but The attached Statement of Work provides a lot of details in terms of what The command is looking for but please let me know if you a draft solicitation Is needed.
2nd Round Questions (June, 2016):
Question# 1: Page 1, paragraph 1. General Requirements. The SOW, references work, to be accomplished for laundry/linen services at the Naval Hospital Beaufort, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Paris Island and Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina and in your answer to question #3 in the below e-mail states that laundry will be picked up and delivered to 26 locations. However, SOW paragraph 17.Delivery, only shows one location for pickup/delivery, please clarify will all laundry be picked up and delivered to the single address shown in the SOW, 1 Pinckney Boulevard, Building 1, Beaufort, SC or are there 25 additional addresses?
Answer: One address
Question# 2: The SOW does not reference any Federal holidays, will laundry be required to be picked up and delivered on any or all Federal Holidays? Please list those holidays that will require laundry to be picked up and delivered on.
Answer: No service on Federal Holidays
Question# 3: Page 2, paragraph 12. Replacement Cost. This paragraph references Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi, Texas in two places. Is this just a typo and the references should be Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC?
Answer: Typo
Question# 4: Page 2, paragraph 12. Replacement Cost. The SOW refers to item replacement charges to be levied to the Contractor for lost or damaged linen while in possession of the Contractor.
Exactly how will the Government determine what is lost? Soiled linen is weighed not counted which eliminates the ability to determine what exact pieces might be lost.
Answer: we are not sure how it would be determined. Whatever is fair and reasonable which would likely be replacement per item. Even though they are washed by pound, we still buy them by unit so that would be the way we ask for reimbursement. Likely we would have to compare what we received with our inventory of what was sent to determine the lost portion.
Question# 5: Page 4, paragraph 17. Delivery. The SOW states that Pickup/Delivery Days are Monday through Friday. In your answer to question #2 in the below e-mail, you state that Pickup and Delivery will be 6 days a week, please clarify.
Answer: 5 days a week
Question# 6: What is the frequency of pickup and delivery; 7 days per week, 5 days Per week, 2 days per week etc? 6 days a week?
Answer: 5 days per week
Question# 7: Could you tell me who the incumbent contractor is and possibly their DUNS?
Answer: No incumbent
Additional Information (August, 2016)
1) NH Beaufort currently has their laundry done at Parris Island Depot, the same place that washes recruit laundry as well. No contract. This is a new start.
2) Looks like NH Beaufort can do a two day per week delivery but need it to be a Tuesday and Thursday if possible.
Note: They would prefer 5 days a week but they can do two days.
