Statement of Work for

Duplex Corrosion Resistant Steel With Ultrasonic Testing

a) SCOPE

This statement of work (SOW) is for the Firm Fixed Price procurement of Duplex Corrosion Resistant

Steel Raw material in support of CVN75 Catapult Trough Components, in accordance with the specifications and dimensions provided herein. This procurement includes the material to be

Ultrasonically Tested, and all associated certifications and test reports. Ferralium 255 (UNS S32550) is a super duplex stainless steel in the Ferralium family. Ferralium 255 achieves higher strengths than most other stainless steel varieties and corrosion-resistant alloys.

b) REQUIREMENTS

2.1 General

The contractor shall provide the following quantities and sizes:

1) UNS S32550 3.25" x 6.25” x 72” Qty. 27

2) UNS S32550 2.63” x 4.5” x 69.25” Qty. 27

3) UNS S32550 2” x 3.38” x 36” Qty. 54

Dimensions given are minimum sizes and can be supplied slightly oversize if necessary.

The following certifications are required:

a) Raw material certification:

1) Material and original mill certifications are required and must be in English.

2) Material must be DFARS Compliant.

3) Charpy V-notch impact testing certification.

b) Ultrasonic inspection certification. This certification must be sent to TPOC for review and

Quality Assurance acceptance prior to shipment of material.

2.2 Specifications

a) Material:

1) Material shall be in accordance with ASTM-A-240, UNS Designation S32550, or ASTM-A-

479, UNS Designation S32550 water quenching or rapid cooling by other means is required after annealing. Material shall be subjected to charpy V-notch impact testing in accordance with

ASTM specification A673. The test results shall meet an average minimum value of 25 FT-LBS at -20 degrees F (-29 degrees C). The frequency of testing shall be by piece.

2) For material ordered to ASTM-A-479, water quenching or rapid cooling by other means is required after annealing.

b) Ultrasonic Testing Requirements:

1) Material Shall be Ultrasonically Tested in Accordance with MIL-N-23228 or AMS 2154

Class A

2.3 Government Inspection and Acceptance

Government Inspection and Acceptance of all units shall be accomplished at the destination.

3.0 PACKAGING, PRESERVATION AND SHIPPING

Packaging and preservation for shipping shall be in accordance with best commercial practices.

Shipments shall be packaged and transported (FOB Destination) via safe, secure, reliable, and traceable means of transportation and provide protection from normal climatic/weather conditions and incidental mishandling during shipping to prevent any damage or loss during shipment. All shipments under this contract shall be addressed to the NAVAIR Lakehurst Staging Facility as indicated below:
