USS FRANK CABLE READY SERVICE LOCKERS

6.2.3 Paragraph 700-8.3.4.1: Topside lockers. Topside lockers are provided with an interior hinged security bracket to prevent unauthorized access by tampering with the hinges (see Figure 700-8-1). Ensure that this feature remains intact whenever preforming maintenance or repair.

6.2.4 Paragraph 700-8.4.1.1: Lockers: A completely enclosed structure with a hinged door (or doors) on the front surface for accessing the small arms contained within.

6.2.5 Paragraph 700-6.14.3: Ready-service lockers. Ready-service lockers for the temporary stowage of ammunition shall be provided for operational readiness of the weapon for which they were intended. One small arms ammunition locker should be located near each gun mount for ready service use. Permanent stowage shall be provided for ammunition temporarily stowed in ready-service lockers.

Topside lockers are provided with bolted connection to the deck to allow for easier removal for depot-level maintenance.

6.2.6 Paragraph 700-6.8.1: Temperature. Temperature stability in magazines is essential to prevent decomposition and deterioration of ammunition. Ready- Service lockers. Temperature recording logs or manual charts for recording thermometer reading shall be maintained in the magazine in accordance with the

PMS.
