Global Command and Control System –Maritime (GCCS-M)
Sole Make and Model Justification (SMMJ)
Crystal Server Models CMS-00096
BACKGROUND: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), Global Command and Control System –Maritime (GCCS-M) engineering team is responsible for the implementation of GCCS-M software on board all U.S. submarines in the fleet.
The GCCS-M system resides in the AN/USQ-177(V) equipment rack and utilizes the Submarine
Local Area Network (SubLAN), infrastructure for communications and data transfers. The
GCCS-M architecture receives and processes data from national, regional, and organic sensors and fuses, correlates, filters, maintains and displays the location and attributes of friendly, hostile and neutral contacts for use as a battle management tactical decision aid.
GCCS-M system components facilitate the delivery of pertinent near real time information to the
Officer in Tactical Command (OTC). To maintain and validate these components the GCCS-M lab utilizes various fleet assets in order to build, test and store these golden systems for fleet distribution, record storage and troubleshooting. Code 2511 is funded by the Space and Naval
Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Program Manager Warfare (PMW) 150. The objective of the GCCS-M program is to satisfy Fleet C4I requirements through the rapid and efficient system engineering and fielding of C4I assets.
To maintain C4I continuity the GCCS-M engineering team has an immediate need to purchase six (6) additional shipboard compatible Crystal CMS-00096 high performance workstations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
GCCS-M is the Program of Record (PoR) managing submarine configuration assets for GCCS-
M software development, testing, fielding and system sustainment for all U.S. Navy submarines.
The objective of the GCCS-M program is to satisfy fleet Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) requirements through the rapid and efficient system engineering and fielding of GCCS-M software to the submarine fleet. Crystal Server Model
CMS-00096 is a Program of Record (PoR) hardware asset required for the operation, production, test and evaluation of fleet tailored GCCS-M software. The Crystal High Performance
Workstations being procured must be the identical models to shipboard systems in order to support building software packages for shipboard systems.
The salient features of Crystal Group Model CMS-00096 High Performance Workstation are:
RS265G, 760W 1+1, 2X5508, 48GB, 5X 2TB, BDRW, 7805 RAID, 2 1000SX FIBER
PORTS, 2 100FX FIBER PORTS
CONCLUSION: These model servers are required for the operation of GCCS-M prior to fleet delivery. It is vital that GCCS-M purchase the same model servers as the fleet and is mandated by the Navy Command and Control Program Office, SPAWAR, PMW 150, San Diego.
