In accordance with DD254, the contractor must submit a request for sharing of classified and other sensitive information between prime contracts in writing to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Security Office. Once accepted, the Government can send the classified drawings to the contractor.

3.0. REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Prior to beginning machining, the contractor shall attend a 1-day kickoff meeting at the Naval Foundry Propeller Center, Philadelphia PA. The contractor cannot start work until the completion of the kickoff meeting.

3.2. The Government will provide the contractor with four (4) nickel-aluminum-bronze castings as Government Furnished Property (GFP). The castings are made to reference (a), item 3, with machining excess material and casting excess material. The Government is responsible for shipping the GFP to the contractor’s facility.

3.2.1. The Government will initially provide the contractor two (2) castings, shipping them in custom shipping containers. After completion of steps 3.3 through 3.6, the contractor shall be responsible to ship, Free on Board destination (FOB destination), the fully qualified stators to the Government. The original shipping containers used for the initial shipment to the contractor shall be used for return shipment to the Government. Upon return receipt of the initial two (2) stators, the Government shall provide the contractor the final two (2) castings in the original shipping containers, which are again to be used for return shipment.

3.3. The contractor shall inspect the casting and set it up for machining. The contractor shall best fit the finished part (CAD file reference (b) or reference (c)) inside the casting ensuring at least 0.25” material excess in all locations.

The contractor shall machine datums A, B, C, D (shown in Section 4-1-7B of reference (a)), the FWD fairing surface (Inspection Point #3 per reference (a)), the AFT rope guard (Inspection Point #30 per reference (a)), FWD and AFT faces of the hub (see 3.2.2), tooling tab holes (see 3.2.3) and four attachment holes (shown in section 4-2F and 4-2B). The surface finish shall be 125 RA max and the machining cusp height shall be 0.0002” max for both landing faces.

3.2.1. During best fit set up, identify minimum and maximum material excess locations. If minimum material excess is less than 0.25” contact the Government.

3.2.2 Regarding the FWD and AFT faces : The FWD face, also known as the FWD ID Landing Surface, shall have 0.50” material excess in the forward direction (+/- 0.060” tolerance and the AFT face shall have
