Clarifications for RFQ1240873 PBX Phone System Upgrade Part 2

14. How many of the existing analog phones can be converted to IP phones?

Answer: None of the existing analog phones can be converted to IP phones. We need 100 analog phone lines.

15. Are there any special requirements for the Voice Mail System (auto attendants)?

Answer: No special requirements for the voice mail system. Auto attendants would be nice, but not required.

16. Does the voice mail system need to be a standalone platform?

Answer: The voicemail system can be a standalone system as long as it is delivered, installed and checked out with the phone system, and has the same warranty/coverage as the phone system and does not require any outside services to continue using it after the warranty period ends.

17. Can Microsoft Exchange UM be used?

Answer: MS exchange UM can be used as long as it is delivered, installed, documented, and checked out with the rest of the phone system. This included the 3 year service and support. We don't want to go to a 3rd party (Microsoft) for support. If it has problems or isn't working, we will be calling the vendor that we have the 3 year service agreement with for the phone system to make it work.

18. How many common area phones? How many user phones?

Answer: We need the number of phones specified in the request. Most of the phones are common area phones, but some are not. We do not have a count or differentiate between the two.

19. Are you looking to purchase brand new analog devices or cut over the existing analog devices to the new system?

Answer: We are looking to buy brand new analog phones. The phone lines are existing, but we would replace the phones themselves as well as the PBX system handling the phones.

20. Does the system need the Highly Available (HA) and redundant?

Answer: The system needs to be redundant such that if one server fails, the second, and then the 3rd will take over so that the phones will continue to operate.

21. Does the system need to failover to a disaster recovery site?

Answer: We will locate each of the 3 servers in different physical locations throughout the network to maintain improved fail over.

22. Is there an existing Microsoft Active Directory in place for user logins?

Answer: There is not an existing Active Directory for users to log into.

23. Is Microsoft Exchange being utilized as the Email Messaging system?

Answer: MS exchange is not currently being used for for email messaging.

24. Is there any integration that needs to be done with other application or systems?

Answer: There is no integration with other systems or applications.

25. Are you looking to purchase six switches that have forty-eight ports, that support POE?

Answer: Yes, the PBX should include qty 6, 48 port Power Over Ethernet Switches. These will provide connectivity and power to the IP Phones as well as the rest of the phone system.

26. What kind of connections are the existing trunk lines and where do they terminate to?

Answer: The existing trunk lines are POTS lines and terminate on the ship in the wall enclosure with the rest of the analog ship phone lines. There is also a single POTS line on shore (there will be more in the future).

27. Do the trunk lines support SIP if not what protocols?

Answer: The trunk lines are not SIP, just analog POTS phone lines.
