QUESTIONS & ANSWERS - 5/17/18
RFQ N4523A18Q4190
1. Do the blowers need third party certification like ETL (Environmental Testing Laboratory)?
Third party certification is not required as long as the certifying representative has the equipment and knowledge necessary to verify the product meets the specification.
2. Specifications call for AMCA "A" Construction, Paragraph 3.3.2.5(a).
Do you definitely want Spark Resistant "A". "A" is quite expensive. "B" or "C" can be much less. Please advise.
Yes, we want Spark Resistant "A".
3. Acceptance Testing at Destination, paragraph 4.3 has 25 days after receipt. That is too long for Small and Disadvantaged Business like ours.
We request that it be changed to 10 days.
25 days is necessary for a large organization like PSNS & IMF to coordinate among us to be able to accomplish Acceptance Testing and originate action if deemed necessary.
4. Does Foot Print have to be 40" x 35" as per specification paragraph # 3.3.2.5(b)? or is there flexibility like ± 6"?
Paragraph 4.3.6.e. of the specification states: "Size, not including the silencer support is specified as 60" x 50" (or smaller)." Could not find the referenced 40" x 35" above anywhere in the specification, and confirmed that the specification does not contain paragraph 3.3.2.5(b).
5. What is weight limitation of the assembly?
There is no specified weight limitation of the assembly provided the lifting and handling requirements are met.
