Question 1

Per the RFQ attachments listed for Solicitation Number: N4523A18Q4081, the lead sheets & wool are just 2 components of a finished product that requires additional materials to be sewn together with the lead inside. Please confirm that is something the government does in house once the each material is delivered. Based on the solicitation listed, it is my understanding that you are just seeking a quote for the materials, lead sheets and wool, correct?

Answer:

- We are buying fully finished Lead Wool Batts via this contract (already sewn together)

- These are sewn together by the manufacturer and delivered ready to use

- The delivered product must meet or exceed our specification: Drawing 2301-3537 Rev H

- Also, this material requires a First Article Sample, if the delivered item does not meet the specifications we will not accept

Question 2: The quantities are listed on each Order Data Sheet.

Please also confirm quantity of the wool. The wool says 200 each, lead wool typically comes in 5# bags (in a 50# box) or in bulk so I’m not sure what total quantity they are looking for when they say 200 each? Please confirm.

Answer The piece counts correspond to the finished pieces. We are ordering finished pieces as called out in our drawing (each piece consists of lead wool or sheet, dual covers, fabricated to the dimensions specified, plus grommets, stitching, Velcro, straps, etc.. as specified, and in compliance with all contract and drawing specifications) - so if we order 200 LWB-1 we expect to receive 200 finished LWB-1-type lead wool batts per our design specification.
