Microwave Digestion System Specifications
1) Microwave system must deliver minimum 1200 Watts of power. Power must be continuously variable or pulsed microwave emission.
2) System must create a uniform microwave field for even heating of all samples using modal stirring or equivalent.
3) Chassis and microwave housing shall be constructed from stainless steel for durability.
4) System must move minimum 5 cubic meters of air per minute to exhaust chemical fumes from the system and perform efficient cooling of the microwave vessels.
5) All pressurized sample vessels must include a spring pressure release device that reseals automatically when excess pressure is released.
6) Vessels and covers shall be made of high purity TFM™ (modified polytetra-fluoro-ethylene). Vessels shall be 75mL in size with and operating pressure of at least 435PSI.
7) Vessels shall allow water cooling.
8) Door shall open downward providing a stable work platform.
9) The supplied controller shall be kept separate from the microwave chassis.
10) System shall include a 24 position sample rotor and 24 sample vessels.
11) Controller shall have a minimum 6.5” color touch screen with stylus and have 2 USB or PS2 ports for mouse and keyboard.
12) Controller shall display the actual versus programmed temperature ramp, pressure and power settings in real time.
13) All parameters shall be adjustable during sample digestion.
14) System must be easily programmable and allow the operator to build a temperature profile.
Wattage and power settings shall be automatically set by the controller and not manually by the operator.
15) Unit shall normally operate between 220 and 240 Volts at 60 Hertz and require no greater than a
15A breaker.
