About this file
This document contains three requests for clarification relating to a solicitation for the deactivation of the USNS APACHE (T-ATF 172).
The clarification requests relate to physical security requirements at a private contractor facility, pricing for towing the vessel 207 nautical miles from a shipyard facility in Baltimore to the inactive reserve fleet in Philadelphia over five days, and arrangements for the contractor to provide and subsequently return two P-100 pumps used in towing preparations. The Navy seeks confirmation that the contractor will be responsible for establishing and maintaining increased force protection conditions at its facility and transporting the vessel as specified, clarifying that the pumps must be returned after use.
The solicitation is being conducted by the Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command for deactivation of the USNS APACHE. No further details are provided on response dates, pricing terms, set-asides or other requirements.
