The solicitation seeks offers to position ISO containers near the side of a barge in Valdez, Alaska, where a contractor of the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command will use a reachstacker to offload the containers. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

10 FEBRUARY 2021

THE FOLLOWING ARE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED FROM POTENTIAL

OFFERORS. THE ANSWERS PROVIDE CLARIFICATION ONLY AND DO NOT

CONSTITUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE SOLICITATION.

1. IS THE OFFEROR RESPONSIBLE FOR LOADING TEU’S ONTO TRUCKS IN

VALDEZ?

ANSWER: NO. THE OFFEROR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR POSITIONING THE ISO

CONTAINERS NEAR THE SIDE OF THE BARGE, WHERE AN SDDC CONTRACTOR

WILL USE A REACHSTACKER TO OFFLOAD THE CONTAINERS.

2. I SEE THAT THERE ARE 124 TEU’S LISTED IN THE RFP, HOW MANY ARE

NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND?

ANSWER: THIS IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT BASED UPON LOAD LIST FOR

NORTHBOUND. SOUTHBOUND MAY BE 124 AS WELL, BUT A SIGNIFICANT

PERCENTAGE OF THOSE WOULD BE EMPTIES FOR RETROGRADE.
