QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

17 August 2018

The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.

1. The RFP states that the vessel must be equipped with a 20-foot spreader bar. RO/ROs do not load containers via spreader bars but rather by forklift or other MHE. Confirm that this requirement does not apply to RO/RO vessels.

ANSWER: A strictly, RO/RO vessel does not have to provide a 20-foot spreader bar.

2. Specialized MHE such as low masted forklifts and mafi trailers may be needed for cargo operations. Confirm that these charges will be reimbursable via port charges.

ANSWER: If a offeror offers in with a strictly RO/RO vessel, mafi trailers and low masted forklifts will be needed to load/discharge containers. Since the cargo terms are free in/free out, SDDC is required to furnish all equipment needed to load and discharge the vessel.
