PERIODIC MAINTENANCE INSPECTION AND SERVICE

ROUGH TERRAIN (R/T) DIESEL FORKLIFT

TECHNICAL EXHIBIT

1. ENGINE COMPARTMENT

-Check access covers to ensure they operate without sticking or binding.

-Check battery and cables for corrosion, cracks or other damage.

-Check battery hold down clamps for secure mounting.

-Check wiring harness for chafing, broken wires, or corrosion on connectors.

-Check engine drive belt for cracks, fraying, and correct tension. Adjust as needed.

-Service air cleaner element and empty dust cup. Element may be cleaned from inside to out with compressed air of no more than 30 psi.

End of Technical Exhibit -Check all lines and hoses for cracks, broken parts, secure mounting, and leaks.

-Check fuel filters. Replace if dirty.

-Check fuel level gauge for correct operation.

-Check Water Separator Drain

-Check all steering hoses for cracks, broken parts, secure mounting, and leaks.

-Check all steering cylinders for secure mounting and leaks.

-Check steering linkage for excessive play.

-Check steering selector valve for proper operation and leakage.

-Check cooling hoses for cracks or leaks.

-Check transmission fluid.

-Check transmission cables and linkages -Check for damage or broken parts.

-Check transmission cooler for leaks and secure mounting.

-Replace filter per the technical manual.

-Check for damaged or broken parts.

-Check security of flange mounting bolts.

-Check for any excess free play.

-Check differentials for leaks.

-Check differential fluid levels.

-Check planetaries for leaks.

-Check planetary fluid levels.

-Check security of final drive bolts.

-Check hydraulic filter. Replace per tech manual.

-Check lift, tilt, and side shift cylinders for proper operation, secure mounting and integrity.

-Check operation of all hydraulic control valves.

-Check mast and carriage for proper operation, secure mounting, and integrity.

-Inspect forks for damage and secure mounting.

-Lubricate all lift, shift, and mast components -Lubricate all lifting rams with a corrosion/rust inhibitor that remains soft (example: LPS-3).

-Check muffler and exhaust pipes for cracks, corrosion, leakage, and secure mounting.

-Check all brake components for safe operation.

-Check lines and hoses for cracks, broken parts, and leaks.

-Check brake pedal and linkage for broken or damaged parts.

-Wash exterior body with mild soap and warm water, away from direct sunlight and without allowing cleaning agents to dry on finish.

-Clean driver seat, dash, floor area, gauges, mirrors, controls, and lights.

-Remove corrosion and loose paint with a wire brush and a cleaning scrub.

-Perform corrosion control using approved primers and paints.

-Spray a transparent, hard-drying, water displacing, corrosion preventive compound (such as “So Sure”) on exposed hardware and yokes.

-Perform inspections in accordance with Table 4.3 in the MANITEX LIFTKING USN4/USN10 Technical Manuals.

-Make adjustments to components, as required -Fill fluids and lubricants to proper level in accordance with Table 4.1 in the MANITEX LIFTKING USN4 Technical Manual.

-Provide a Condition Found Report (CFR) - and a quote - for any required repairs and associated parts.
