There were no requirements for "encryption". Nor were there any requirements for Project 25 compatibility. Both of which may be required according to DoDI 4650 with regards to Interoperability. Are these requirements are critical.

ANSWER:

The P25/encryption requirement is non-critical. The sole use of the radio/repeater system is for inter-ship communications only. No interfacing with Port Ops, Port Security, etc.

2. QUESTIONS:

Is there Radiax (leaky coax cable) throughout the ship?

ANSWER:

No RTL presently exist, but it is called out for installation during this performance.

3. QUESTION:

Where "exactly" will the installation take place? The RFQ mentions both Bahrain and the UAE.

ANSWER:

Installation will take place in Bahrain.

4. QUESTION:

If the Choctaw sticks with the current configuration, is the equipment they are requesting Host Nation Approved with a current JF-12?

ANSWER:

Currently, no JF-12 exist for this model that we are aware of. Being researched at this time.

5. QUESTION:

May we assume the Choctaw's frequencies are authorized?

ANSWERS:

Assume Yes.

6. QUESTION:

If the Choktaw is located in Bahrain, is there any reason why they would not want to consider a different solution, which would provide them interoperability with NSA Bahrain Port Ops, Harbor Patrol Unit, Port Security, etc?

ANSWER:

As stated previously, the sole use and purpose of the radio/repeater system onboard is for inter-ship communications only. Handheld radio users on the ship communicate internally between various departmental personnel and embarked staff and security forces only. They do not use this equipment to interface with Port Ops, Port Security, Fire & Rescue Agency, and/or neighboring vessels etc.
