SUN SHADES INSTALLATION
1.0 ABSTRACT
1.1 This item describes the requirement for the contractor to procure and install SOLASAFE anti-glare “SILVER” sunscreens for Navigation Bridge and Helicopter Control Station.

5.0 NOTES
5.1 Performance Period:
5.1.1 Primary 24 Feb – 27 Mar 2017
5.2 LOCATION: Austal Vessel Completion Yard, Mobile, Alabama.
5.3 Contact James Phillips (primary) 757-443-2924 or Johnathan Overton (secondary) 757-443-5803, for details and requirements concerning access to an MSC vessel.
5.4 Contractor is required to submit personnel on the EPIC spreadsheet. To gain access to MSC vessel's on the East Coast, contractors must submit an EPIC request to MSFSC(underscore)EPIC(underscore)EAST(at)navy(dot)mil MSFSC_EPIC_EAST@navy.mil.
5.5 Contractors, shall allow 3 business days (14 for Austal, 5 for NASSCO, OCONUS, & Earl NJ) for processing of all requests. EPIC will take up to 48 hrs to process, the request must be approved by EPIC before access can be sent to the facility for approval, access will not be guaranteed without approval from EPIC.
5.6 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 22, 23, 26, 28 and 29.
5.7 The contractor and subcontractors shall review other work items under this contract, to determine their effect on the work required by this item. Based on this review the contractor shall plan and schedule work to minimize conflicts between all work items.
5.8 Contractor proposal shall include identification of center pull or double pulley bottom rail operation.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
7.1 Verify and determine measurements and all sizes of windows identified during Site Survey.
7.1.1 Center two (2) Bridge windows will be covered by one (1) sun screen blind.
7.2 Furnish and install ABS Type Approved Solar Solve LTD, Type SOLASAFE Anti Glare SILVER Sun Screen Blinds to the manufacturer’s recommended procedure in the locations specified in 3.0. Color SILVER.
7.2.1 All components for operating the Solar Solve system shall be furnished by the contractor.
7.2.2 Sun screens shall include aluminum anodized cassets with wipe clean brush system and aluminum bottom rail.
7.3 Furnish a final list of materials including the complete list of Sun Shade sizes and final locations.
7.4 Furnish a list of window sizes as per locations in 3.0
7.5 Furnish the combined weight of all material used during execution of this work item.
7.6 Prepare, prime and paint all new and disturbed surfaces to match the surrounding surfaces using contractor furnished coatings. Only approved coating may be used.
