QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – PART TWO
The following questions and answers are provided for informational purposes only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation. Any changes to the solicitation deemed necessary as a result of any questions answered herein will be incorporated via amendment.
QUESTION 1: Does the 28,000 lbs. weight mentioned in attachment P represent an exact weight per container or can a vessel with average container weight of 28,000 lbs. be considered?
ANSWER 1: The 28,000 lbs. weight of the containers is the gross weight of the containers (weight of cargo and container together).
QUESTION 2: Does the 28,000 lbs. include container cargo and tare weight of the container in this case?
ANSWER 2: The offeror is to consider that the gross weight of each container is 28,000 lbs.
QUESTION 3: Is the draft mentioned calculated on the basis of summer salt water condition?
ANSWER 3: MSC is not limiting draft to “summer” salt water draft. The 35 ft. limitation is for any condition.
