SECTION C
SOW - End to end automated testing – Initial Analysis Manager baseline
1. Scope:
The contractor shall implement an end to end automated testing proof of concept for the V&V effort. Despite the advances in software development tools and practices (such as model based systems engineering) the goals of accelerating the rate at which systems can be tested, delivered and fielded cannot be met without comparable improvement in the practices for testing. UAS’s desire is to leverage the recent automated testing ROI evaluations using model based system engineering approaches to testing for various NAVAIR programs and implement Automated Test and Analysis (ATA) for UAS.
2. Requirements:
For this effort the contractor shall develop a proof of concept end to end automated testing that includes ATRT test manager and ATRT analysis manager capability to allow for GUI automation along with automated data analysis capability to allow for testing of message traffic/interfaces/connections between labs (V&V) that are part of the V&V efforts. The contractor shall support implementation of V&V plans which help guide the connections to be tested. This will include a demonstration of successes of applying test automation to GUI/message testing, along with laying the cornerstones of an overall V&V automated testing strategy that will be added to in subsequent phases:
2.1 End to end approach to automated testing
· Review existing engineering documentation (e.g. models, design documentation, IDDs, IDLs, requirements, etc., as applicable/available)
· Tech Interchanges: Info exchange with engineers
· Develop an end to end model based automated testing program
· Modeling a subset of end-to-end use case/thread using sysml including verification steps and expected results, etc.
· Outcome processes will serve as baseline for future V&V
· Includes software deliverable that will serve as a baseline for adding additional V&V use cases Successful completion of this work will result in increased and improved T&E efficiencies, such as improved quality, reliability, and performance across the UAS system portfolio and can be applied and used by other Navy SYSCOMs.
3. The contractor shall deliver to the Government:
· All source code, installer scripts, build scripts, test code, configuration scripts and parameters, all source code dependencies, plugins and build environment
· Conduct a demonstration of feature enhancement and bugs during the sprint closure meeting occurring every other Thursday, as per completion of associated derived sprint tasks.
4.0 SECURITY
Some elements of the SOW tasking are classified up to the SECRET level. Access to and generation of classified material shall be in accordance with the DD254 attachment of the basic contract.
5.0 Acceptance Criteria
The acceptance criterion is described here. The contractor, as well as the government representative, must agree and sign off on this acceptance criteria before a delivery can be considered completed/accepted.
5.1 CDRLs
All CDRLs defined in this SOW are expect to be delivered within schedule and on budget meeting defined requirements.
· Documentation Review
After the contractor delivers a document, the USG has 30 business days to review and comment. The contractor shall delivery documentation with appropriate markings with restrictions set forth in the base contract. If no comments are received within 30 days, the document is considered accepted. When comments are received, the contractor shall resolve those comments 5 business days from the receipt of the last comment. If the contractor is unable to resolve comments within the specified timeframe, they will contact the TPOC for guidance.
5.2 AM baseline is functional and meets defined requirements
After the contractor delivers the environment, the USG has 30 business days to review and comment. If no comments are received within 30 days, the environment is considered accepted. When comments are received, the contractor shall resolve those comments within 5 business days from the receipt of the last comment. If the contractor is unable to resolve comments within the specified timeframe, they will contact the TPOC for guidance.
The USG expects the delivered environment to be functional. The delivered environment will have to meet the requirements stated in this SOW, along with the agreed upon user interface specs designed and agreed upon as part of the agile process.
The USG will accept the environment if:
· It meets the requirements/specs
· There are 0 criticality “Blocker” errors
· There are 0 criticality “Critical” errors found
Criticality
Definition
Blocker
Error causes automation applications to fail to start and no reasonable workaround has been identified.
Critical
Error causes automation applications to fail during test execution with at least 75% repeatability and no reasonable workaround has been identified.
6. Specific Scope criteria that is met with this effort:
The scope criteria that is met is as follows:
· Support automation of manpower-intensive and time-intensive tests and analysis activities, as well as tests that may be impractical or impossible to be conducted manually in an operationally representative environment.
· Provides a repeatable method for executing a set of test procedures or test scripts efficiently and effectively.
· Improves testing through one or more of the following: reduces test time, reduces test cost, maximizes reusability while minimizing re-work, increases test breadth and depth (i.e. more test times, tested more often), improves test repeatability and consistency, reduces analysis time, increases accuracy and allows for testing a capability in its intended use.
· Improves efficiency in one or more aspects of testing to include: test planning, test conduct/execution, test analysis/ data reduction, and test reporting.
· Project is focused on efficiencies under test analysis and post-processing of test data, and will be able to compare the test results against a checklist of requirements to determine success or failure of the test.
· Primarily focused on physical systems running software or firmware and/or virtualized models of physical systems in order to improve productivity or quality of the system under test.
· Minimally-invasive to system under test.
7. What end user(s) will benefit from this development?
The entire UAS system portfolio will benefit from this effort and outcomes and lessons learned can be applied and used by other Navy SYSCOMs.
