Text version

The modified cabinets are part of the CP-1273/UPX-24(V) Central Processor and must be built to U.S. Navy, Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 1), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program approved configurations. NAWCAD must meet the PEO IWS 1, NAVSEA, and FMS requirement to manufacture the modified cabinet into their final form, the CP-1273/UPX-24(V) Processor Controller, prior to AN/UPX-24(V) system integration testing, environmental screening, and delivery to the shipyard for installation. The modified cabinets are located in the Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment room on board a ship, and must fit on a pre-existing base that mate to the mounting position of the modified cabinet.

These modified cabinets must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit and function) with existing systems presently installed on board CV, CVN, LHA, and LHD class ships. The modified cabinets must meet the following mandatory requirements: MIL-S-901D, Shock Tests (H.I.) High-Impact Shipboard Machinery, Equipment, and Systems; and MIL-STD-167-1, Mechanical Vibrations of Shipboard Equipment. The modified cabinets must also meet the Government’s required delivery schedule of 1 June 2016 to meet DDG and Aegis Ashore ship schedules.

It is crucial to maintain mandated MIL-STD 901D and MIL-STD 467 certification, interoperability, and commonality among fielded systems so that the configuration standard will not differ and fleet supportability will be not be impacted.
