STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT FOR EMI FILTER SCREEN AND REPAIR EVALUATION
1. Background:
1.1 The Government has several EMI Filter Assemblies (P/N 7561183-1) used on the MK48 Torpedo that require manufacture screen and/or repair. Manufacture screen, MS0146R-1 (Attachment 1 in FBO) is an alteration to the EMI Filter Assembly P/N 7561183-1.
1.2 The manufacture screen (MS0146R-1) updates the EMI Filters with new part numbers selected for the
IGBT insulating pad, insulating step washer (bushing), insulated sleeve spacer and screw. The new insulating pad with adhesive backing is double the thickness of the existing pad and has a smaller diameter hole, both of which will reduce the risk of shorting from the IGBT tab to chassis. The new bushing will ensure proper alignment of the mounting screw through the IGBT tab which will eliminate the risk of shorting from IGBT tab to screw. The new cap screw improves the ability to torque properly. The IGBT screw will be torqued to the screen requirements. A torque log will be completed for each EMI Filter.
Following the retrofit and reassembly of the EMI Filter, it will be subjected to factory acceptance test in accordance with the EMI Filter Test Requirements Specification.
