Laboratory Water Systems Preventive Maintenance

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

1.0 BACKGROUND

The chemical and biological laboratories of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense Division, require the use of distilled and purified water for testing as well as optimal operations of essential equipment. Water purified using distillation and reverse osmosis (RO) is essential for conducting chemical and biological research to ensure no contaminants are present that could introduce variability in test data. Some equipment requires a constant input of RO water for optimal performance and to reduce the potential for corrosion, ultimately damaging the equipment. The distillation and RO water systems require quarterly preventive maintenance as well as filter change-outs to maintain optimal water purification.
