PROTOLASER 3D LASER DIRECT STRUCTURING (LDS) SYSTEM SUPPORT

STATEMENT OF WORK

1.0 BACKGROUND

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Cyber Warfare Engineering Division A40, Cyber Research and

Engineering Branch (A41), System Security Engineering (SSE)

Laboratory Group designs Cyber Security solutions because many commercially available solutions do not adequately meet the security concerns of our sponsor Programs. The A41 SSE Lab

Group requires one (1) ProtoLaser 3D Laser Direct Structuring

(LDS) System. The intended use of the LPKF-LDS® system is to produce customized hardware prototypes which provide innovative

Cyber Security solutions for current and future Navy programs.

Specifically, the LPKF-LDS® system will enable the SSE Group to develop, design, and prototype 3-dimensional Molded Interconnect

Devices (MID). These devices and the technique use to create them could be used to create defensive Cyber sensors, enable retrofit of existing systems, provide repeatable manufacturing, provide integration of circuits and enclosures reducing the number of configuration items, provide more design flexibility, and reduce production time.
